HALL OF FAME SCHOLARSHIPS
Assisting Students in Homebuilding Curricula to Pursue Higher Education
The California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame Scholarship was established in 2012 by Michael Cortney, a 2000 Hall of Fame Honoree, and his late wife Julia Cortney. This scholarship aims to support students in building programs in achieving their higher education goals.
The California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame Scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a college or university and majoring in a building-related program. Recipients may attend any California college or university. Selection criteria include scholastic achievement, extracurricular involvement, demonstrated integrity, and character. Financial need is also considered during the selection process. A minimum of $5,000 in non-renewable scholarship funds is awarded directly to the recipient's college or university's financial aid student account.
Each year, the California Homebuilding Foundation hosts an elegant black-tie awards dinner to induct its newest Hall of Famers. The Hall of Fame event stands as the Foundation's largest fundraising occasion of the year. During the ceremony, scholarships are awarded in person to deserving recipients. Scholarship winners are honored guests of the Foundation for the evening, and their attendance at the event is mandatory.
The 2025 Hall of Fame Scholarship application submission period will begin in January 2025.
