Rodney DeLuca was born and reared in Fresno, California and attended Fresno State University.
After serving in the United States Army, DeLuca started out in the real estate and home building business when he went to work for his brother in 1961. Six years later, he founded Rod DeLuca Realty and Construction Company. For nearly thirty years, Rod DeLuca Construction has specialized in custom homes, duplexes, triplexes, and apartment complexes, developing eighteen custom home subdivisions in the Fresno Valley area.
Through his innovation, the formation of a “land bank” Uniservice Corp, a subsidiary of First Federal Savings and Loan Association, was created, allowing several small home builders in the Fresno area, the opportunity to obtain fully developed lots on which to construct custom homes.
Rod has been a member of the BIA of San Joaquin Valley since 1971 and has served as president of his local association twice. He has been active at the state and national level and is a Life Director of the California Building Industry Association and the National Association of Home Builders. Rod has earned Builder of the Year honors and the Oscar Spano Lifetime Award from the BIA of San Joaquin Valley.
Rod and his wife, Marcella, live in Fresno and have three adult children and five grandchildren.
